Despite the escalating war rhetoric, conventional wisdom holds that the U.S. military establishment and even President Obama himself believe that the potential consequences of a military strike that plunges America into a third war in the Muslim world are so grave — and the prospects for such a strike preventing or deterring Iran from eventually attaining nuclear weapons so dubious — as to render it too reckless an option. Nor is there any legal basis for it; a U.N. Security Council authorization for military action against Iran is unthinkable unless Iran attacked another country or was moving to do so. And most of the international community — including most of those countries that backed the latest round of sanctions — would strongly oppose it. President Obama is an indefatigable internationalist, and if he were planning to launch a military strike against Iran, it’s reasonable to expect that he’d be engaged in the protracted process of trying to establish a basis for such action at the U.N. and in international public opinion. No signs of that, at least not yet.
Obama has, however, insisted that a military option remains “on the table.”

Why can’t you journalists tell the truth. Iran has never attacked anyone in decades (maybe centuries).
Israel, on the other hand, seems to need to attack a neighbor every two years, wreaking havoc and destruction in great degree.
Pakistan, North Korea, India, China, ISRAEL, etc. have nuclear weapons, none of which have shown Iran’s restraint in fighting a war. And every one continues to mouth the idea that Iran having nuclear weapons is destabilizing. Destabilizing of what? The Israeli war hawks ability to digest their dinners? The game playing, totally insane, entire foreign policy people in the White House for about sixty years being able to play their sick mind games?
Destabilizing according to the dictionary refers to making a situation inherently shaky, perpetually close to falling apart. By no means can a rational person state that Iran having nuclear weapons is destabilizing, except to the fantasies of idiots in the Pentagon, the State Department and Israel government officials minds.
And enough of this “existential threat”. There is no such thing in reality, and tolerating its use creates fantasies instead of clear perceptions on actual problems.
I know of no case in history, where a country was so bent on eliminating populations that trouble its fantasy images (Israel), that was continually treated in the western media as a democracy and peace loving.
When oh when will journalists become sufficiently morally convicted, they begin to tell the truth????!!!!
